Buck & Honey's - Sun Prairie: A Culinary Gem in Wisconsin

Food was good. Atmosphere was good. Our waitress had a good sense of humor albeit dry. Service was ok. Took forever to get our check. We made a reservation and even though there were waters waiting for us at our table, we were hoping to get offered the option to sit outside since it was a nice night.

We love Buck and Honey’s at the Sun Prairie location. What a pleasure to have such a great option near my daughter’s new home. From the minute we walked through the door we were greeted by friendly and outgoing staff to make sure our experience was top notch. The whole staff was AMAZING! Food was delicious, presentation so eye appealing and temperatures perfect. Service was very prompt! I highly recommend this location.

I have been to this restaurant two times. Every time that we have gone there I order the same food. I love the Firecracker Shrimp pizza. It is very delicious and spicy. It has a nice flavor to it that other pizza places do not offer. One pizza is enough for two people to share. Or there will be leftovers for the next day. It is a little pricey but it is worth it.

Mera and the Buck & Honey’s catering team were great to work with for catering our wedding. From the group sit down tasting experience to the last second adjustments before the big day, they were professional and responsive. We had several moving pieces, a changing menu up until the last minute and a fluctuating guest count. The B&H catering team was accommodating, understanding and transparent. Their day of event staff were kind and efficient. Most importantly, the food was fresh, delicious, and loved by everyone at the wedding. I highly recommend them and their services!

I found myself in Sun Prairie last week and decided to try this place after seeing its many accolades. It did not disappoint! It was a warm evening, so I decided to sit outside. The outdoor seating was very nice, and they had live music. I got the Friday fish fry, and it was one of the best I've had in my time as a Wisconsinite. I had the money to spare in my budget, so I even splurged on the chocolate cake. It was absolutely delectable. Despite being nearly full, the service was reasonably attentive. They clearly run a tight ship! Overall, this place is fantastic, and I can see why it has won so many awards over the years. If I ever find myself in Sun Prairie again, there's a good chance I'll be back.

Have been to this location many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Most recently was there with a larger group for a birthday celebration and the service and food was excellent. I had the catch of the day which was crab stuffed salmon. Everything was cooked to perfection. Drinks were fabulous. Highly recommend the house sangria and the espresso martini. Food and drinks are a bit costly, but you get what you pay for. Overall, will definitely return and highly recommend.

I’d certainly say Buck N Honeys use to be great when they opened. Unfortunately I feel as though since the pandemic it’s been down hill. I have it a couple of years to see if anything would improve but at this point I think this is a restaurant that will have the average food but certainly not worth the price. Here’s what we ordered. Cheese curds - Decent, a little thicker batter for my liking as I prefer the lighter batter with seasoning. Meatloaf - which again tasted fine but not for the price. I would compare this to your typical chain. Ta’s Hot Comby - a little disappointed that it said Madison’s Best sandwhich… it just felt like any regular deli meat from the store slapped onto a hoggie bun. If it was toasted it could have helped. Waygu Burger - I’ve had plenty of Waygu burgers and unfortunately it didn’t have that taste to it. Burger was a bit greasy but I’d say the onions and mushrooms was a good touch. The burger needed to be seasoned much better. (I feel that I was eating a regular sirloin steak burger) Overall felt like a microwave dinner. I do hope they get better as again I use to love Buck N Honeys but certainly try it and form your own opinion.
